One thing worth trying is to set up the palette in ADPro so that it
doesn't use the first 8 colours. For instance, "Colors used 120, Offset
Color 8" with Custom Palette set. That leaves the first 8 colours free
for Workbench use, out of a total of 128. Then render and save.

I don't know any other image processing program that has this feature,
but there may be one.

ADPro's renders are particularly good. I have even had nice looking
background images in only 4 colours.

Apologies to those who don't have ADPro. Avid bought it and are sitting
on it. This is a classic example of an old Amiga program which should be
retrieved from its owners and made available.

However, under 3.5 I am just using JPEGs on a 256-colour Workbench and
getting good results from the standard OS renderer. Maybe 128 colours is
a bad number. Have you tried 64 or 32?
